Toshiyuki Mitsuhashi won the Farday Cup Award with his device, the "Self-tracking Optical Beam Monitor." The beam profile monitoring system is for synchrotron radiation and was designed to evaluate the distribution of a cross section of the electron beam in a high-energy accelerator storage ring in real-time.
